Random Musings
1. Marc just bought the fourth season DVD set of Scrubs, and for a couple of nights now, we have just looked like crazy loonies, knee-slapping, guffawing, laughing out loud, at scenes that we've seen so many times before. We even had pre-show entertainment clips of Scrubs from YouTube. Somehow the jokes never get old. I tell ya, we crack up now as much as we cracked up the first time. Whew.2. Have a new obsession with hair tools - hair dryers, curling irons, straightening irons, hair products galore. I wonder how long this will last.
3. I thought I would get over my obsession with jackets, but it's been going on for a few years now. The style of jacket I want changes throughout, but they're jackets all the same. Right now, I'm in cold-weather-sport-jacket mode.
4. Ooh, new obsession: Zelda: The Twilight Princess for the Wii. Marc got me this game a few weeks ago, and we've been trying to muddle through the puzzles (oh, and I get jumpy and panicky when I have to kill off a plant or a creature). I cheat sometimes though and peek at walkthroughs. I get frustrated when we spend five hours trying to figure something out and still end up with nothing. Not exactly the healthiest way to spend the afternoon, but all's good in moderation I guess (five hours = moderation? hmmm).
5. Going to Mammoth this weekend, and we're once again lucky enough to have planned a weekend there after they got snow. We were resigning ourselves to the seemingly inevitable situation that the mountain would be bare and we would just have to go hiking or climbing in the area, but lo and behold, they got 12 inches recently, and it's snowing there again today. Yippee! At some point, we may even be able to go cross-country skiing or snowshoeing, which is just fabulous, as I've been wanting to try both for a long time now. So excited!
6. Jim Brickman is playing at the Hollywood Bowl this year, and I'm feeling antsy. He's one of my favorite contemporary solo pianists. I actually have his CD in my car and I drive to his music about 50% of the time. So relaxing, but not the sleep-inducing kind of relaxation, more like the "It's good to be alive" kind.
7. It's been a busy week at work this week, so I haven't been able to do much else. Today is the first day that I can breathe easy because 2 of my projects went live last night, with almost no issues. It's a great feeling, but it makes me feel like doing nothing for a little bit when I've built up so much anxiety, worry and paranoia.
8. Respect is a great thing, isn't it? And it's something I think everyone deserves, no matter what. 'Nuff said.
